Partnering with This Might Hurt
In addition to traditional distribution methods, the producers are gearing up for an ambitious National Impact Campaign to maximize the film’s reach in communities and classrooms around the U.S. The National Impact Campaign for This Might Hurt will focus on three key areas:
Educate healthcare and psychotherapy professionals
Including the next generation of mental health providers and physicians about this little-known treatment that could help millions of chronic pain sufferers. We will offer continuing education credit to make a maximum impact.
Fight the Opioid Epidemic
The addiction epidemic that is ravaging the nation was started with a need to help patients in pain.
CHAnGE HOW CHRONIC PAIN IS APPROACHED
Our film offers a new perspective on how to approach pain patients, looking holistically at the symptoms as well as the patient’s life. Using these methods, we can treat the patient, not the symptom.
““As a psychologist who works in the field of chronic pain, I think you guys have given us a great teaching tool.” ”
We anticipate that the campaign will incorporate the following elements:
Monthly virtual screenings for 500 audience members with a Q&A to follow.
Medical school screenings, including Q&As with filmmakers and mental-health professionals
Screenings for mental-health providers and hospital employees
Screenings and conversations with filmmakers at conferences and meetings of mental-health providers, physicians, and other practitioners.
Creation of a curriculum guide, web materials, and an educational version of This Might Hurt for use in training physicians and therapists. CE credit available.
